Open Access Policy

The journal METALLA makes its content available free of charge as it promotes the free accessibility of research results to the public and the global exchange of scientific knowledge. The journal is a platinum open access journal where publication is free for authors and all content is freely accessible to readers.

From May 2022, PDFs of new contributions (articles, Sonderhefte) will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License (CC BY 4.0 International). The licence can be found at Creative Commons — Attribution 4.0 International — CC BY 4.0.

In the case of exceptions, reference is made to the different CC licences.

The journal only receives a non-exclusive right of use from the author/authors for the publication of the contributions made available.

The Creative Commons licence of the articles determines the regulation of the use of images or other third party material, unless a separate copyright is indicated. If material is not included in the article's Creative Commons licence and your intended use is not permitted by statutory regulation or exceeds the permitted use, you will need to obtain permission directly from the copyright holder.

Contributions published in METALLA before May 2022 can also be accessed free of charge, depending on the legal conditions and the processing status. However, these are subject to the conditions applicable at the time of their publication. Contributions in this category can be found in the archive.
